This is the first of my series of coaching-style episodes and in this episode, I answer a question on how to bring influential guests to your Podcast.
This is a new format I am starting on the show where I will be bringing in anybody who wants to ask me a question. I will be recording it in a coaching style format and I will answer 2-3 questions from the guest.
This week, we have Arpita who is a podcaster and hosts the show, “Light House Talk podcast”.
She has questions about how to bring influential guests on the show and if it is ok to see so many rejections from influential guests.
Bring Influential Guests to Your Podcast
While we discuss this topic in the episode, here are some tips on how to approach and bring influential guests to your podcast:
Define your ideal guest
Before you start reaching out to potential guests, it’s important to define who your ideal guest is. Think about the topics you cover on your podcast and who would be an expert in those areas. Also, consider the type of audience you have and who they would be interested in hearing from.
Do your research
Once you have identified your ideal guest, research them thoroughly. Look for information about their work, achievements, and interests. This will help you to come up with thoughtful questions and conversation topics that will engage your guest and your audience.
Personalize your pitch
When you reach out to potential guests, make sure to personalize your pitch. Show that you have done your research and explain why you think they would be a great fit for your podcast. Be clear about the topics you would like to discuss and how their expertise would add value to your audience.
Be persistent but respectful
It’s common for busy and influential people to receive many requests for interviews and appearances. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a response right away. Follow up after a few days with a polite and respectful message. If you still don’t hear back, don’t take it personally and move on to the next potential guest.
Be prepared
When you do get a guest to agree to appear on your podcast, make sure you are prepared. Send them a list of questions or topics you plan to cover in advance, so they have time to prepare thoughtful responses. Make sure your equipment is working properly and you have everything you need to record a high-quality episode.
Follow up and say thank you
After the interview, be sure to follow up with your guest and thank them for appearing on your podcast. Share the episode with them and let them know how much you appreciated their time and insights. This can help to build a positive relationship with your guest and increase the likelihood of future collaborations.
Bringing influential guests to your podcast can be a great way to attract new listeners and establish yourself as an expert in your field.
