Myth’s about Apple Podcasts New and Noteworthy
Apple Podcasts New and Noteworthy is a section of the Apple Podcasts app where new and popular podcasts are featured.
Many podcasters aspire to get their show featured in New and Noteworthy, as it can lead to a boost in downloads and help them grow their audience.
However, there are a few myths surrounding New and Noteworthy that are worth addressing.
Myth #1: Being featured in New and Noteworthy is the key to success
While being featured in New and Noteworthy can certainly be helpful for a podcast, it is not the be-all and end-all of success.
There are many successful podcasts that have never been featured in New and Noteworthy, and there are plenty of podcasts that have been featured but have not seen a significant increase in downloads.
The key to success in podcasting is to produce high-quality content, promote your show effectively, and engage with your audience.
Myth #2: You need a lot of downloads to be featured in New and Noteworthy
There is no official information on how Apple selects podcasts to feature in New and Noteworthy, but it is not necessarily based on the number of downloads a podcast has.
While it is certainly helpful to have a large and engaged audience, it is not the only factor that Apple considers.
It is possible for a new podcast with a smaller audience to be featured in New and Noteworthy if it has high-quality content and a strong marketing strategy.
Myth #3: Once you’re featured in New and Noteworthy, you’ll stay there forever
Being featured in New and Noteworthy is not a permanent status. Podcasts are typically featured for a few weeks or months before being replaced by new ones.
This means that even if your podcast is featured in New and Noteworthy, you will eventually be removed from the list.
The key to maintaining a successful podcast is to continue producing high-quality content and promoting your show to new listeners.
Myth # 4: Launching with multiple episodes will help you get featured
This is a tip that has been out there on the internet for some time now. It might have worked long back but at least for now, it isn’t something that works or, that can help you get into the New and Noteworthy section.
A lot of reviews and downloads could boost the process of selection but there is no guarantee around that.
The shows that show up there are handpicked by Apple. Your association with larger networks can help you get featured but then otherwise it is a process that you don’t have control over.
Myth # 5: The first 8 weeks rule
There’s another myth that a show can only get featured on Apple podcasts New and Noteworthy in the first 8 weeks of launching.
New and Noteworthy aren’t just about new podcasts. Instead, it is about podcasts that are worth listening to irrespective of how long they have been out there.
Just browse through the section and you will find a lot of podcasts that have been there for a long.
So, don’t be disheartened that your show is older than 8 weeks. You can still get featured on New and Noteworthy.
In conclusion, while being featured in Apple Podcasts New and Noteworthy can be a great boost for a podcast, it is not the only factor that determines success. The key to success in podcasting is to produce high-quality content, promote your show effectively, and engage with your audience.
