In this episode, we will discuss 8 podcast website best practices that will help you book podcast website conversions.

A podcast website is a non-negotiable in podcasting.

Why?

Because most of the action in terms of conversions like email subscribers, sales, etc. all happens on your website.

But how do you know if your website will do the job for you?

And how to build a podcast website that converts well and helps you make money.

These podcast website optimization tips are what we are going to cover today.

Podcast Website Best Practices for High Converting Website

I have been a podcast listener and a podcaster-follower for a long time now. Almost 13 years to be precise.

And the one thing that I learned from all of those top podcasters, through these years is that “even if podcasting is a different channel/medium of its own”, for any action to happen – like building an email list or, selling something like a course, eBook, etc., you need to redirect your listeners to a website.

So that makes a website a non-negotiable in podcasting.

If your objective with your podcast is anything like building a brand, a personal one, or maybe your corporate brand, or making money or, even getting clients, then you need a website.

All of this can only happen on a website.

But then the question is how to build a podcast website if you are not tech-savvy and you don’t know coding and HTML etc.

The truth is that you don’t need to know any of these if you want to build a beautiful website. If you know how to drag and drop and click and select, then you can build a beautiful website on your own.

I have a video on my YouTube channel that will walk you through the steps to create a website in under 30 minutes.

You can watch it here if you want to build a podcast website on your own.

Now, before you jump in and start building your website, there are a few things that you need to know on how to boost podcast website conversions so that your website is optimized for conversions and you get a better return on investment for your efforts.

After all the objective is conversions, isn’t it?

So in this episode, I will share with you 8 podcast website best practices that will help build a high-converting podcast website.

Let’s get started!

Sleek and User-Friendly Design

Your website’s design is the first impression your audience gets.

So you might want to make it count!

A clean, easy-to-navigate layout with clear branding and intuitive menus is key to ease of access.

This ensures that your visitor knows what he is supposed to do. Remember, a confused visitor is a lost visitor.

Another thing that you might want to keep in mind is to keep your website clutter-free. Don’t put a bunch of Google ads or, banners on your Podcast website.

Keep it clean and user-friendly

Episode Showcase

What is a podcast website without podcast episodes?

Your episodes are the stars of the show.

You might want to embed your episodes into every post you create. You can also put together a podcast page where all of your episodes can be accessed and listened to.

You can create an eye-catching episode library with enticing thumbnails and concise descriptions using some of the plugins that are available online.

I recommend using Fusebox which is an amazing option to embed your podcast episodes and also has a nice interface.

Whatever method you use, make it easy for your audience to binge-listen to your content.

Engaging About Page

An “About” page is absolutely essential on a podcast website.

It is this page that will give a glimpse of you, your podcast, and your objective to anybody visiting the website. It can be your listeners or, even the guests who you are inviting onto your show.

Your guests might want to know more about you and your achievements. So ensure that you are showcasing these as you share your podcasting journey.

It is also important to keep in mind that your “About” page isn’t just about you; it’s about your audience too.

So do emphasize what your show can do for them. Let your personality shine through!

Call-to-Actions (CTAs)

The objective with which you are redirecting your listeners to your website is to make them take action.

So don’t leave your visitors hanging!

Include strategic CTAs that guide them toward a specific action that you want them to take. Whether it’s subscribing, signing up for your newsletter, or joining your community, make it irresistible to engage.

If you do this wrong, then all of the effort that you have put in to direct your visitors to the website will be lost.

Mobile Responsiveness

These days, most internet users access websites on a mobile phone.

So if your website is not mobile responsive then these visitors are sure to browse away as soo as the page loads.

So ensure your site looks and works beautifully on mobile devices.

A responsive design is absolutely essential. Most website builders, these days help build websites that are mobile responsive.

But then when you design your website it also needs to load fast on mobile phones. Website builders that clutter the design with codes can impact loading speeds.

So I recommend using Thrive Themes or, Generate Press both of which are the best when it comes to building a podcast website.

Clear Branding Consistency

Another important thing to keep in mind is your branding.

Imagine somebody landing on your website and finding a different logo, different colors, or, different fonts of your website.

There is a break in consistency and this could lead to people browsing away because they might not be able to relate to the website.

Your website should seamlessly reflect your podcast’s branding, including colors, logos, and fonts.

In fact, I would say that your branding should be consistent across all platforms. Consistency across all platforms reinforces your podcast’s identity and makes it memorable to your audience.

Testimonials and Social Proof

First-time visitors to your website might want to know more about you. They will want to verify your credibility and authority.

This is where testimonials and other forms of social proof come in.

Incorporate testimonials from satisfied listeners and any awards or recognition your podcast has received, prominently on your home page.

Social proof builds trust and credibility, encouraging visitors to become loyal fans. So use it to the maximum.

Optimize for SEO

Websites get found through search. So if you are looking at gaining new listeners, then one of the best ways is to ensure that your website ranks on Google and other search engines for the relevant keyword searches.

So ensure that you are optimizing your website for search engines.

You can use relevant keywords, meta descriptions, etc. along with keyword-rich articles as part of your SEO efforts. Using alt tags for images also helps to improve your site’s discoverability.

I would recommend using a good SEO plugin that can help you with optimizing your website for search engines.

A plugin I use and recommend is RankMath which is by far the best plugin out there.

Conclusion

A high-converting podcast website is the bridge between your content and your audience.

And in order to make it high-converting you need to put in some effort.

These podcast website best practices that I shared today will help you save a lot of research and time and will help you create a podcast website that is not only high-converting but also brings in new listeners.

Apply these podcast website optimization tips, and you’ll be on your way to attracting, engaging, and converting visitors into devoted podcast fans.
