revathi from wominspiria podcast

This week’s guest on the show is Revathi Vinod from Wominspiria Podcast, which is an award winning inspirational podcast.

If you have ever felt that, lack of time is the reason why you haven’t been able to start and run your podcast, that you have always wanted to start, then this conversation is a must-listen for you.

And at this point, I will also tell you that, if that was your excuse then probably your reason or, purpose for starting your podcast wasn’t powerful enough.

One of the common excuses that all of us have, when we are unable to do something is, “I am little too busy with things and I am not able to find time”.

But then, the fact is that there is plenty of time with all of us.. to do all of those things that we had always wanted to do.

What we do not have is a real reason that has the power to push us enough to get started with whatever we are doing.

It is hence that we always talk about finding a purpose for starting your podcast.

But then, I have had people asking me, “Purpose, Really? What’s the need for a purpose?”

The conversation in this episode is the perfect answer to that question.

Using your purpose as Motivation – Revathi Vinod from Wominspiria Podcast

I was interviewed by Revathi a few weeks back for her show. While on the interview, I got to know more about her and how she manages her podcast.

I should rather say, Podcasts!

Yes, that is right. Revathi runs two different podcasts in two languages.

I had listened to a few of her episodes before I got an opportunity to join on her show as a guest. And I had wondered as to how she finds guests for her show.

Her show wasn’t one that brought in celebrity guests. Instead, they were guests who were just like us, but did things that were more than worthy of mention and appreciation.

But then, not all heroes wear capes.

These guests too were ordinary people with an extraordinary story.

And Revathi was bringing out these stories in her podcast, which in itself was worth appreciating.

So, I became curious to find out more about her podcast and her journey with podcasting. More importantly I wanted to understand from her as to how she was managing to stay consistent with her podcast while managing all of the responsibilities on her shoulders.

What better way to cure that curiosity, than talking to her.

So when I decided to talk to her, I thought, why not do it as an episode the show.

And I am so glad that I did it.

There’s a ton of inspiration hidden in there for each of you out there. So listen till the end.

Here’s a little about Revathi and what she tells about starting her podcast –

I’m a full time Academician, who loves to create content with respect to education and learning, and that’s what my job is all about.

I started Wominspiria, when i was going through a very rough phase of my life, that was post delivering my second child during the pandemic. Everything seemed smooth till the day of the
delivery, post that, i went through a lot with regards to my emotional and physical stability, that did not identify as me. I had to bounce forward(not back), hence i chose doing what i love doing, Talking!

I wanted to document whatever I did and wanted to have a space of my own, so that, later in life, whenever I would feel down or worthless, I could raise my collar and pat my back saying that I was capable enough.

I am a full time mother to two kids. I manage all the chores at home and all the needs of my kids and Wominspiria is my brainchild.

Here are some of the things that we discussed on the show –

  • The importance of having a purpose
  • Why and how there is time for everything that you want to do
  • Why you shouldn’t be waiting for the ideal time to get started
  • Podcasting as a learning experience and the things that you can learn
