A few weeks back I was scouting for podcasts in the history niche.
History for me was a boring topic but I was fascinated by it and loved reading and listening to it, if it was made interesting.
Hence, I was looking for podcasts that made this topic interesting.
That’s when I came across “The Monisha Take”. I listened to the first episode and then the second and then a few others.
What kept me hooked was the interesting story-telling, the intonations, the modulations and the passion with which the story was being told.
Another interesting aspect of the show was the consistency with which the episode was being released. The podcast has been live for a little more than a year and about 63 episodes as I write this post.
After listening to the show, I became a little curious to understand the journey of the podcast and the podcaster.
So, this week we have Monisha Sharma from the podcast, “The Monisha Take” on the show, sharing with us her journey of the last one year with podcasting.
Finding Your Passion with Monisha from The Monisha Take
One of the primary reasons for podcasters quitting and exiting podcasting, is because of the lack of passion and interest.
People just start off with something, if they see a slight interest in the topic. They just want to join the bandwagon and not be left behind.
So they start off. But after a few weeks, the interest fades and consequently the first sign of quitting emerges – breaks in releasing episodes.
The consistency drops and slowly the podcast fades.
Hence when I started listening to the Monisha Take, my first thought was – “if the podcast is consistent and the host is able to churn out content every week without fail, it is only because this topic interests her”. But I wanted to hear it from her.
Monisha not only confirmed this thought, but she also spoke at length about how you can find your passion and why it is important to find your passion.
Monisha is a a TV/ Radio anchor turned podcaster. She is a history enthusiast and loves reviving & preserving old and almost forgotten folk tales and rituals through my Podcast .
She also writes poems & likes studying different folk tales & cultures.
