Little fixes podcast

This week we have Maitri Verma from Little Fixes Podcast where she shares her podcasting journey and tips on how she stays motivated in podcasting with some little fixes.

Demotivation!

Something that even the best in the trade go through.

And podcasting isn’t any different.

Content creation in general involves a lot of hard work and when there is a lot of hard work involved, you can expect to be demotivated at times.

So, the question isn’t if you too, get demotivated. Rather it is, how do you deal with it.

Podcasters, bloggers and business owners who aren’t really sure of how to deal with it, usually quit.

But then, there are people like Maitri Verma, who knows how to deal with it and hence they stay consistent.

Demotivation in Podcasting and How do You Deal with it?

I usually ask all of guests if they too feel demotivated and how they deal with it. Almost all of my guests have a strategy and that is why they are there in the game.

When I asked the same question to Maitri, the response that I got from her was pretty interesting. I am sure you too would find it interesting, especially the fact that there is so much we can do and achieve if we could only change the perspective with which we are looking at things.

But what causes demotivation in Podcasting?

Huge Efforts with Little Returns

Podcasting requires a lot of effort. And it isn’t something that will give you returns immediately.

It takes time and you can expect returns only if you are consistently churning out good content.

This essentially means that, you will be putting in hours and hours of hard work with nothing in return.

Incorrect Comparisons

There is also a tendency of comparing yourself with other podcasters. Irrespective of what experts advise you on, you end up comparing.

And 90% of the times, these comparisons are with people who aren’t at the same level as you. Also, when we do these comparisons we tend to ignore the other aspects like – their efforts, their support systems, their tenure etc.

The end result – demotivation. This is another element that leads to demotivation.

Negative Feedback and Reviews

Naysayers exist and they exist in abundance.

So, it isn’t uncommon to see negative feedback and reviews on podcasts.

And when you see such feedback and reviews, especially after putting in so much of hard work, you will get demotivated.

But..

The next time you feel demotivated, for whatever reason follow the simple tip that Maitri gives in this conversation and you are sure to get charged up and raring to go again.

The Guest -Maitri from Little Fixed Podcast

When I first heard about “Little Fixes Podcast”, I was intrigued by the name. I definitely wanted to understand the reason why the podcast was named so and who better could answer me than the host herself.

After Maitri told me about what it was and with the simple little tip on how she dealt with demotivation (which was just one of the many things we spoke about), I could very well relate to her idea of “Little Fixes”.

I am sure you will agree with me when you listen in to the conversation.
